Join Us!

Want to join our great group of volunteers that make so much happen for the girls in our Service Unit? You don't have to volunteer as a leader - we need volunteers for other things throughout the year. These opportunities can be on either a long or short term basis. To get started, visit Girl Scouts of Western Ohio's volunteer page and use the Contact Us form to let us know you're in process!

It is our wish to see every girl interested in joining Girl Scouts in the Troy area participating in Girl Scouts. Since most girls want to be part of a troop, and we can only accomplish this if we have adults step forward to volunteer, we hope you'll consider this opportunity to volunteer and provide a troop for your daughter and other girls as well.

Troops must have at least one adult leader who has been approved by the council and has completed basic leadership training. Two adults must always be present for meetings and outings and at least one of these adults must be approved and trained. Because of this requirement, additional adults are needed to serve as assistant leaders or adult helpers.

Troy-Miami East holds monthly Leader Meetings. The meetings are where leaders receive information about planned events as well as support and ideas from other adult volunteers.

Meeting Schedule for 2009-10:

Meetings held at First Baptist Church in Troy, behind Taco Bell/SuperPetz shopping area. Each meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. with a Round Table for new leaders and others wanting information. General meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. and lasts about one hour. Babysitting provided by experienced older Girl Scouts.
